MarketScale Explores The Business of Healthcare at ViVE 2023

MarketScale is headed to Nashville, Tennessee this year, to join senior and executive leadership in the digital healthcare space at ViVE.

Held at the Music City Center, this event hopes to provide attendees with an individualized connection process, personalized programming and plenty of growth opportunities to be discovered over the course of four days in Nashville.

From health plans, to big tech getting in on the healthcare business, we get an inside look at the subjects that will be a topic of conversation for everyone who attends from David Kemp, Healthcare Lead at MarketScale.

David’s Thoughts

“What's up, everybody? It's David Kemp. I'm your host of the Highway to Health podcast series. I also lead the healthcare vertical at MarketScale.

I can't wait to see how the ViVE community comes together and continues building the momentum they established in their inaugural event last year, there are three things I'm looking for from the ViVE event this year. If you've looked at the speakers, it's the who's who of healthcare. You have small startups that are innovating and disrupting the industry, and then you have big tech companies that are talking about how they can bring what they've learned from other industries to healthcare to help solve some of the challenges that we all know.

But what I'm looking forward to is seeing how health plans, these payer groups, they've put themselves front and center and I can't wait to see how they bridge a gap for the providers. If you've been paying attention, you know that these health plans have seen record profits in 2022. While conversely, the provider has struggled with reimbursement, profit margin, with operating margin, so how do these payers come together and say, this is our vision forward?

This is our path forward together. Number two we live in the golden age of innovation. And some of these companies are looking forward to sharing how they are disrupting healthcare. But what I'm looking forward to is the response, the opinion, and the perception that the community has towards big tech.

In the past, we've been a little hesitant with companies like Salesforce and Amazon and these other big technology companies coming into healthcare. But we've gotten past that a little bit and you're starting to see them gain traction, gain momentum in a lot of ways. They're going to be front and center as well at ViVE, and I can't wait to see not only what they have to say, but how the healthcare community perceives, accepts, and starts to adopt some of these innovative technologies that these big tech companies are coming to the market with.

Third, there's a lot of focus on preventative care this year, but what are we really talking about in preventative care? Are we talking about increased access to the patient community so they can get the care that they need when they need it? Are we talking about an early diagnosis? So that we can catch some of these chronic diseases and conditions earlier and can treat them more effectively.

Or are we talking about preventative care through the lens of wellness and health and healthy habits? Hopefully, all three of those things are considered and talked about in starting to be implemented in healthcare so that we can truly prevent some of the chronic conditions and huge health events that our patient population has.

Those events are putting a tremendous amount of stress on our providers and our payers. So I'm looking forward to that conversation. If you've tuned into Highway to Health I'm focused on this open road journey that we're all on together to improve this industry that we love so much.

And hopefully, the village can come together. Because that's what it's going to take us. It's going to take all of us. Hopefully, we can start coming together. At the ViVE event, begin solving some of these challenges and get the industry where we want it to be. I'll see you there.”
