Christina’s Journey: From Corporate Ad Agencies to MarketScale’s Community of Strategists

Corporate Ad Agencies

Christina Marcelin is the kind of professional who transforms content strategy into something far more meaningful—she brings people together. As one of the most notable members of MarketScale’s Digital Media Strategist (DMS) community, Christina has made a name for herself by cultivating real connections between brands and their audiences. It’s not just about the content for her—it’s about amplifying the voices that matter most: the community around the brand.

In a recent episode of Coffee Break, hosted by Gabrielle Bejarano, Christina shared some insights into what drives her as a strategist.

“One of my favorite things about the job is building relationships with clients, getting to chat with them, and helping bring their vision to life,” she reflected, capturing the essence of her work.

Her role within the DMS community is rooted in this very philosophy—collaborating with businesses to unlock the creative potential within their existing communities. Christina doesn’t just churn out content. Instead, she helps brands realize that their customers, partners, and even employees are often their most powerful content creators.

Seated with her cold brew in hand during the interview, Christina’s passion for what she does was palpable.

This isn’t just a job for Christina—it’s a mission to guide clients toward creating authentic content that engages their audience in a meaningful way. Her ability to nurture these partnerships has made her a vital member of MarketScale’s community of strategists, helping brands move beyond traditional marketing tactics to something much more dynamic and engaging.

From Corporate Ad Agencies to MarketScale’s Community of Strategists

Christina’s journey to MarketScale wasn’t exactly a straight path, but it’s a testament to her dedication to the craft of marketing. Born and raised in New York, she started her career in the fast-paced world of Manhattan’s advertising agencies.

“It was every bit as intense as you see on TV—fast-paced, high stakes,” she recalled, laughing at the memories of long days and even longer nights. “But it was also an incredible learning experience. I knew pretty early on that I wanted to be on the client side, to help brands directly, rather than through an agency lens.”

Her move to the client side came when she joined Nature’s Bounty, now part of Nestle Health. As a brand manager, Christina played an integral role in product development and digital marketing, launching products that are still on shelves today.

“One of the products I worked on is still in Costco,” she said proudly. “Every time I see it, I take a picture. My daughter rolls her eyes, but I’m like, ‘Look, I did that!’”

These formative years in brand management gave Christina the hands-on experience she needed to understand not just what makes products successful but what makes people connect with them.

After years in corporate brand management, Christina found her way to MarketScale, where her expertise in building relationships has flourished. As part of the DMS program, she now works closely with enterprise brands, guiding them in creating content that leverages the voices of their communities.

“It's not just about creating content for the sake of it,” Christina explained. “It’s about helping clients realize that their audience—their community—is one of their greatest assets. When you give people the tools and the platform to create with you, the results are so much more impactful.”

Her work at MarketScale aligns perfectly with the company’s broader mission—one that emphasizes owned and earned media as the key to real, authentic growth. Christina’s role within this system is not only to guide brands but to make them see the power of their own crowd.

“We’re responsible for helping brands connect with people in a real way, and that’s where the magic happens,” she added.

Her ability to facilitate these connections, and her passion for seeing them come to life, has cemented her as a crucial part of MarketScale’s community.

Balancing Work, Family, and Community Engagement

Yet, Christina’s life extends far beyond the world of marketing. When she’s not building brands and fostering client relationships, she’s at home in New York, balancing her work with the demands of family life. A proud mom to a five-year-old daughter, who just started kindergarten, Christina embraces her role as both strategist and parent.

“I miss her dearly during the day, but I’m really happy for her that she’s off spreading her wings now,” she said.

Whether it’s school drop-offs, managing client meetings, or indulging in fall activities like pumpkin picking and apple orchards, Christina brings the same energy to her personal life as she does to her work.

It’s this down-to-earth, genuine approach that makes Christina such a beloved figure within the MarketScale community. She’s known not just for her strategic expertise but for the warmth and authenticity she brings to every interaction.

“At the end of the day, you can only do your best, and that’s all you can do,” she said thoughtfully. “We used to say at the agency, ‘We’re not saving lives—it’s okay if we go home and come back to it tomorrow.’ I think that’s important to remember in marketing, too. Keeping things in perspective helps you focus on what really matters.”

This perspective is what makes Christina’s approach to work so refreshing. At MarketScale, where building meaningful connections is the ultimate goal, Christina’s work stands out for its focus on community. She doesn’t just create content—she creates conversations.

“The relationships you build are so important,” she said. “When you’re working with people you trust and connect with, the work becomes so much more rewarding. And it shows.”

Christina may not be leading the charge at MarketScale, but she’s undoubtedly a vital part of the team, helping shape the future of marketing, one relationship at a time.

“If you can keep things in perspective, and build on those real, human connections, everything else falls into place,” she said.

And with Christina on board, MarketScale’s mission of creating community-driven content has never felt more achievable.
